Privacy

Hosting. The site is served by GitHub Pages (GitHub, Inc., USA). To deliver the pages, GitHub processes your IP address and logs the request (see the GitHub privacy statement).

Visit statistics. We count visits with GoatCounter: the page, the referring site, browser, screen size and country, and which parts of the viewer are used (e.g. which shape is picked). It sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser; your IP address is not stored, it is only used to derive the country and an anonymous visit identifier that changes regularly. The script is served from this site, the counts are sent to goatcounter.com. We use this to see how the site is used and to improve it (legitimate interest, Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). Blocking the script does not affect the site.

Uploads. When you upload a shape, the file is sent to our inference server (api.cfd-anything.com, a computer in Germany, reached through a tunnel of Cloudflare, Inc., USA, which processes your IP address and passes the file on). The file is used to compute the flow for you, and we may keep a copy to improve the model; it is not published and not passed on. For private use (files we should not keep), please contact us. The result can only be opened with its random link, which your browser remembers (local storage: name and link of your last uploads, no cookies) so the shape is still there after a reload. The file and the result are deleted from the inference server automatically after 24 hours. Your IP address is kept in memory for one hour to limit the number of uploads per address and is not written to disk. No account is needed. Legal basis: carrying out the service you ask for (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR) and, for the limit and for improving the model, our legitimate interest in keeping the service available and making it better (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR); you can object at any time and we delete your file. Please do not upload files that contain personal data or that you are not allowed to share.
